For many years, it has been held that Khafre (Khevren), a king of the Fourth Dynasty whose pyramid sits behind the Sphinx, built the monument in his own likeness. After researching the pyramids of the Giza Plateau and their imposing half-human, half-animal guardian for 20 years, Vassil Dobrev of the French Archaeological Institute in Cairo has concluded that the Sphinx was the work of a forgotten pharaoh. Who built it, why, and what does it mean? Now a leading Egyptologist believes that he has pieced together the puzzle. The riddle of the Sphinx has confounded generations of tourists and experts alike. Our Scholars read Greek and Roman history with relish but annoyingly refused to see the similitude in our gods, goddesses and ancient history as foundation for civilization today.įor instance: PROOF OF URHOBO CULTURAL ORIGINALITY IN ANCIENT EGYPT I am still amazed how they deceived our Professors and Clerics into believing that the western culture is authentic and original separate from the Ancient Egyptians. And surprisingly, the western world developed their culture on the horse back of Urhobo. To my amazement, I discovered in ancient history that their Nationalist pride was actually authenticated and originated by Urhobo fore-fathers and mothers in Ancient Egypt. Nationalism in the sense that the ordinary people know their past history of Wars, Creativity, inventions, manufacture and Religion. The pride of the American, German, English and the Roman is attached to their Nationalism.

There are traits of the causes of such attitudes in us insecurity due to perennial self subjugation, ignorance of our heritage, ignorance orchestrated by personal insecurity to name a few. What is evident are the naivety, docility and nonchalance among us with our leaders at the forefront. Where-as Urhobo is said to be 6th or 7th largest ethnic group in Nigeria with 22 Cultural units such numeric strength does not translate into political equation of strength in Nigeria. Of these, Urhobos are known to be liberals or appears to align with such. Nigeria, a country of 394 languages surely has varying cultures that could be dubbed in today's language as complex complexities if you will excuse my language.Īmong these cultures we may find some as indolent or lazy, thieves, murderous, oppressives, political houseboys, kingmakers, king-unmakers, spies, aristocrats, democrats and liberals. In a simplistic definition Atamu is the solidarity we need as a platform in order to create, procreate, produce, develop and exist as a nation of many principalities of Urhobo amongst other races in a world where survival of the fittest is a by-word. ATUMU (ATOM: First to be: In Creation), ATAMU (Solidarity): MAKING SENSE OF URHOBO LANGUAGE IN ANCIENT EGYPT.
